The quest is complete. After thousands of imaginative entries from customers, young adventurers and dragon fans, Great Western Railway’s newest legendary travel companion finally has a name.

The limited-edition plushie dragon, inspired by GWR's Famous Five and the Dragon Quest campaign, received its new name following a social media competition, with the winning entry chosen by railway historian and broadcaster Tim Dunn.

From fiery and fearsome to magical and marvellous, entries poured in from across the South West and South Wales, making Tim’s decision no easy task.

Introducing Brunella…

Now officially named, Brunella is ready to accompany families on adventures across the network, from seaside escapes in Cornwall to city breaks in Cardiff and everywhere in between.

Tim Dunn said:

“Choosing just one winner was incredibly difficult. There were so many inventive and imaginative entries.

“Brunella stood out as a name perfectly suited to this dragon. Referencing Brunel, one of the legendary figures of GWR’s past, perhaps it’ll introduce curious young minds to the extraordinary stories of Brunella’s namesake too. It’s an absolutely ace name for a little dragon who’s destined for many great adventures.”

GWR Head of Marketing, Helen da Costa, said:

“We were blown away by the response to our competition. The creativity, imagination and enthusiasm shown was fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many people getting involved.

“There were lots of brilliant suggestions and we're delighted to officially welcome Brunella into the GWR family. We look forward to our young adventurers capturing pictures of Brunella at some of the fantastic destinations on our network.”

The limited-edition dragon is available now from the GWR Souvenir Shop, priced £32.

This is a modern take on a classic from Oscar Wild, it's called The Importance Of Being Earnest, Which has been brought up to date for the 21st Century with a musical take on it, with modern hit songs that everyone recognises. This musical/play has a modest run time of over 2hrs,  with a finish time of 10.10pm. Which I think its the latest I've ever been out of this glorious theatre!

The cast are strong, talented bunch, which portrays comedy elements perfectly, it has a rising damp feel with the main actor really reminding me of that character in the show, with his mannerisms and his comedy timing which is absolutely brilliant when a bit of the set, decides that its had "enough"...  and the comedy take on it is brilliant, it did leave the audience wondering if it was supposed to happen or not.

I do think, the songs they've chosen could be different and didn't always work - however the take on RAYES "Where The Hell Is My husband" was hilarious, with a strong performance along with Butler saying the very famous line "Your husband is coming".

It is certainly worth watching whilst it is on tour, or if you can at the Everyman Cheltenham this week. I do have to agree with some of the audience members, it is slightly too long in length and could have been shortened by about 15 minutes, But don't let that put you off; it was a great production with some great talent.

Featuring a talented cast of actor-musicians, a live on-stage band seamlessly threads jazz-styled contemporary chart hits (think RAYE, Madonna, Lizzo and Eminem) through Wilde’s hilarious, razor-sharp dialogue.

Join Jack, Algy, Gwendolen and Cecily as engagements multiply, handbags are examined and a single name turns society upside-down. This Earnest is witty, romantic and gloriously playful.

In this vibrant 1920s setting, the female characters take the centre stage. Powered by agency and confidence, they are brought to life with refreshing strength. The traditional dynamics of the text shift delightfully, with relationships pioneered as much by female courtship as male.

In the spirit of Wilde’s own description, it is a production "exquisitely trivial, searchingly serious," delivered here with enormous wit, playfulness, and heart.

Combining drama, live music, and fabulous choreography, this is a brilliant hybrid of theatre that makes for a perfect summer evening.

The Choir of Man is currently playing at The Everyman Cheltenham Theatre until Saturday and unfortunately, if you are looking for tickets I'd suggest contacting the box office as they are very limited seating (this is due to how popular it is!). 

Radio Bath was invited by Bath Racecourse as their chosen charity to fundraise on one of their race days.

Radio Bath had a fantastic time and we really enjoyed it. Loraine and Tom got asked if we could choose the best dressed horse (Thai Boxer) and present an award to one of the winning horses, you can see the photos below (with thanks to Loraine and Radio Bath) for capturing these.

Loraine (12pm-2pm) on a Thursday will be playing the interview with a jockey and Tom and James tonight (Sat 1st August) will be chatting about the race day!
