There's been a murder! Well... Two, and its down to the audience to work out who done it...
Monday 21st September was time to review The Mousetrap, a play that celebrates 75 Years and is still going strong on London's West End.
However, We saw it in the stunning and iconic venue of The Everyman in Cheltenham. The play, runs for 2hrs 10 minutes with a 20 minute interval, so there is a lot of dialogue and piecing together who done it, (of course keeping the true magic alive, we can't mention who did it, you will need to book tickets to see it).
It was all set around one room in this play, where several characters were under suspicion of murder, when one of the guests staying in the guest house was murdered. Was there a connection to the murder or was it a cold callas act?
The Play - was 50/50 for myself. As there was parts of it which did seem a tad too long and occasionally dragged in length, but don't let that put you off, as the acting was incredible from everyone who was on stage bringing this to life, although what let down the play for me was how quickly the wrapped things up at the end of act 2.
Act 1 is a longer 60 minute piece which puts together the motive and shows a second murder before the interval, however the build up and revelation of the murderers identity in the second act is quickly established; which then offers no real explanation to why or how they managed to conduct it when they so-called exited via a window. However, that could be the way the writer intended it to be.

Evening Performances at 7.30pm Tuesday- Saturday and Matinees on Thursday and Saturday 2pm. With seats showing as limited or last few remaining.
