Just as she is about to depart for a tour of Australia, Geri finds herself besieged by a bevvy of would-be lovers, not to mention her long-suffering secretary, estranged husband and an obsessed young playwright. Will she ever disentangle herself from their tightening clutches and incessant demands? And deep down, does she really want to…?

This hilarious production is at the Everyman Cheltenham until 3rd October and features an exceptional cast. Tracy-Ann Oberman returns to the stage following her highly acclaimed performance in The Merchant of Venice 1936.

Playing Geri, Tracy-Ann is a hugely successful actress with wit, charm and a devoted following of fans of all ages.

As Geri prepares to embark on a tour of Australia, she finds herself at the centre of attention from a number of would-be lovers. In the opening scene, we meet a 24-year-old who is determined to win her heart, despite the considerable age gap. But, as the show hilariously unfolds, it is not only the younger admirers who fall for Geri. One of her managers, who is married with a husband, but is clearly unhappy in his relationship and sets his sights on Geri, by simply using one of Geri long term friends and managers to seek an affair before trying getting close to Geri  Naturally, she sees straight through his plan, much to his frustration.

This production is hilarious from the moment the curtain rises to the final bows. Tracy-Ann is outstanding, bringing humour and energy to every second she is on stage. The entire cast is talented, with each performer bringing something distinctive to their role. The comic timing is impeccable, while the sharp insults flow freely and are delivered brilliantly.

Jonathan Tafler, who plays Morris, is Gerri’s long-suffering secretary, tasked with keeping on top of her meetings and answering the phone. He is brilliant in the role, delivering sharp one-liners that will stay with you long after the journey home.

Without giving too much away, the entire production is excellent, with a fantastic soundtrack helping to bridge the brief set changes that take place in full view of the audience.

If you enjoy dark humour and a great comedy, this is one for you.

The show runs until Saturday 3rd October, with performances on Friday at 19:30 and Saturday at 14:00 and 19:30.
